I am having trouble getting an XP Home and Vista Business machine to connect
to shared folders. The shared folder is on the Vista machine. When I go to the XP machine and go to run and type \\vistacomputer\shared is says the network resource is unavailable and it will not ping either. But if I go to the vista machine and \\XPMachine\shared i can open the XP machine's shared folder. Then after I have done that if I go back to the XP machine and type in \\vistacomputer\shared it will bring up the shared folders just fine. Why do I have to do this to connect to the vista machine from XP. Any ideas? |

We have seen a similar case like this one. It could be 3 rd party software.
For troubleshooting, try clean boot. Please post back with the result.
