Default 'Select All' option

Is this option gone from Windows pulldown menu's? or is it hidden?
I used to love being able to just go to Edit Select all, to select all
items in a window, now I have to use shift or click on every item...am I
missing something?

Default 'Select All' option

Highlight one item. Then press CTRL + A

This will select all items in that window.
