Default Help with resetting to factory settings

Hi,

I'm using a Lenovo Y400, with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. I've
problems with my com and wish to reset it to the factory settings, after
browsing several old posts, their answers aren't able to help solve my
problem. This is because of several reasons:

1) There used to be a partition before with one drive 30 Gb and the
other 70 Gb, but due to lack of space, I combined both to give me more
space. Now when I try to use the Lenovo Recovery, its written that its
not able to work.

2) Pressing F10 or F2 doesn't give me results either, as the option to
restore to factory settings isn't available.

3) I've a cd present, named 'Lenovo Product Recovery DVD' but when
during installation, they require a set of numbers from my version of
Windows Vista. All i got is the part number in the format of XAA-AAAAA,
which isn't what is required.

Is there any other way to restore to factory settings? I've tried
system restore but my restore points aren't early enough.

Sincerely,
Shawn

By amending your partitions they no longer coincide with those on the
recovery, usually in a destructive recovery that doesnt matter.
Not that you will have gained any extra space by combing the partitions, you
just need to manage your program installions and data locations

Usually the win key is located on a sticker on the base of a Laptop, and
marked as Win* key
