I just finished installing and setting up Vista x64 Ultimate. I have 4 Gigs of Ram that I want to utilize. It is installed and recognized by the computer. So my question is this: How do I know for sure that my new OS is using all the available RAM? The reason I ask is that when I was running 32bit Vista, my ram meters said I was using approx 33% of my ram. Now that I have 64bit, my ram meters read the same. That is to say Vista 64 is using 33% or more regularly. This just seems a little off to me as I expected to see the % drop with the new OS installed. Thanks in advance for any answers you could provide. Josh -- joshua1023 |

Hello Josh, You can look in the "Performance" tab in Task Manager, and also look at the "Memory" drop down in Resource Monitor to see what is using your RAM. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/11...e-monitor.html Hope this helps, Shawn joshua1023;959684 Wrote: I just finished installing and setting up Vista x64 Ultimate. Near the bottom on the left it says "Physical Memory" and underneath it says "Total" - you should see 4 gigs there. When you were running Vista x86 the total was probably somewhere between 3 and 3.5 gigs. |
