I have had 2 random boot errors where it gives me a screen telling me that I had a software or hardware change that is causing a problem. I then have to reboot, it then will start up fine... I haven't installed anything. Could it be antivirus software? I have Comcast and I get free McAfee software with my account. It says it's compatible... Anyone else had this problem? -- Munchmouth Always HUNGRY!! |

Hello Munch, You might check in Device Manager to see if you have any devices listed as not working properly. If you do, then you may need to uninstall and reinstall that device's drivers. If all else fails, you may be able to do a '*_System_Restore_*' (http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76...store-how.html) using a restore point dated before this started to see if it can fx it. Hope this helps, Shawn -- Brink *There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.* '*Windows 7 Forums*' (http://www.sevenforums.com/) *and* '*::Vista Forums::*' (http://www.vistax64.com) *Please post feedback to help others.* |

Brink, I checked device manager and no problems there. I am not sure if I should update Bios and or drivers. I have a new I7 based system and the Mother board bios isn't newest version. Also I have old Video card drivers, and I guess I have old Network adapter drivers as well.... I don't like updating unless I have to, don't like new problems that sometimes come when updating drivers. I may have to though if this happens again. Could this be a solution? Thanks, Tom -- Munchmouth Always HUNGRY!! |

Munch, It may not be a bad idea to install any newer BIOS, chipset driver, and device drivers versions to see if they can address the issue that you are having. -- Brink *There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.* '*Windows 7 Forums*' (http://www.sevenforums.com/) *and* '*::Vista Forums::*' (http://www.vistax64.com) *Please post feedback to help others.* |
