Windows already comes with FTP feature. you just need to enable it. This how
to may help. How to install and manage FTP File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is the protocol for transferring files over the Internet. FTP uses the Internet's TCP/IP protocols to enable data transfer. ... www.howtonetworking.com/Windows/ftp0.htm -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "Bunit" wrote in message ... Hi, I recommend you FileZilla server (google the name). Small footprint. Reliable. Simple. Open Source. I believe there is much improvement with the new IIS over IIS 5.1 on XP (I haven't used it yet on the Visa machine). But MS has never been and never will be transparent. FileZilla has a server and a client, both work well (free). My best advice is: first do a little reading starting from here http://www.slacksite.com/other/ftp.html (unless you know that already) And try a few software starting with the FileZilla server. -- Admsupport |
