I'm having loads and loads of issues with trying to install programs on my computer mainly due the extraction of files from installers before they are run. Here are a selection of issues I've been having. I'm assuming one problem is the root of all the issues. When trying Install the DirectX SDK self-extracting setup .exe: \"EXTRACTING FILE FAILED. IT IS MOST LIKELY CAUSE BY LOW MEMORY (LOW DISK SPACE FOR SWAPPING FILE) OR CORRUPTED CABINET FILE.\" Which I get on every version of the SDK I try to download. When trying the Adobe Photoshop CS4 trial self-extracting .exe: \"A PROBLEM OCCURED WHILE EXTRACTING SOME FILES. CHECK AVAILABLE SPACE ON YOUR COMPUTER AND THE WRITE PRIVELAGES ON THE DESTINATION FOLDER.\" Also tried extracting the .7z file that comes along with this installer using various programs (7zip, winZip, winRAR) and keep getting CRC errors saying the files are corrupt. I've been able to install games from DVD and smaller non-extracting .exe files without any problems. I have uninstalled the copy of AVG which I previously had and the computer is only a few weeks old so I'm at a loss as to what the problem could be. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing these problems? -- John Matrix |

Download and save the files.
Try right-clicking on the setup.exe of the Programs you want to install Run as Admin. -- Mad Mike "John Matrix" wrote: I'm having loads and loads of issues with trying to install programs on my computer mainly due the extraction of files from installers before they are run.
