Default home network issues

Hey. i just got a wireless router and i want to be able to share files
between my wired desktop and my wireless laptop. both HP and running
vista.

i got everything working when i had both computers wired to my router.
i changed permissions, and put in trusted ip addresses on both personal
firewalls. i then disconnected the ethernet cable to my laptop and
enabled my wireless connection. the sharing still works from the desktop
to the wireless laptop. i can see/change/copy files and whatever, but
when i try to go from the laptop to the desk top i get an error message
that says.

" ##### is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions. The network location cannot be reached.
For information see windows help"

im sure whatever is wrong is something small that ive overlooked. it
just seems strange to me that it works from desktop to laptop, but not
the other. and it works both ways if i just plug in the eithernet cable.
my router does have wireless internet security. ill try disabling it.
and see it that helps. any suggestions will be appriciated.

Since the wired and wireless may use different IP, you may want to double
check if you have added the wireless IP to the trust.

Hi
Set the DHCP in the Router to a small defined Range with to a little more
than the max number of IPs that you are using right now. Then set the
Trusted Zone in all the Software Firewalls to the same range (i.e. set range
not individual IPs). If you are using 3rd party Firewall make sure the
Windows Firewall is off.
Wireless security is only pertaining to the raw connection between the
Laptop and the Router. If the laptop is capable to use the Internet with the
security On, then leave it On since it has nothing to do with File Sharing
per-se.
