possible to set up a wireless home network to allow files sharing as well as
accessing peripherals

on the laptop i went to Startnetworknetwork & sharing center set up a
connection or networkset up a wireless router or access point, click
nextclick next message says "Windows detected network hardware but cannot
configure it automatically"

i clicked the first option logged onbut all settings were ok nothing wrong

i started everything again then chose the second option i inserted the USB
into the computer but i got a message saying i dont have the wireless network
card/software on the computer . why does this matter since its connected to
the wireless router

2)Can i have a really simple set by step guide on how to set this up in
Windows Vista Home Premium

What your primer Wireless source is?
If it is a Wireless Router that is yours, do not use Windows ICS between the
two computers. Use regular Bridging between the Laptop and the Desktop.
Otherwise you have to provide more detailed about the exact way that
everything is configured including the Internet source.

If you own a Wireless Router do not plug the computers one to the other.
Wireless Routers usually have 4 jacks for wire computer and can server many
Wireless computer.
If your Desktop is Not near the Router and you can not plug it in with a
cable you would have much better Network if you make the Desktop Wireless it
cost only $20 if you do it on your own. (example,

Once the computers can use (each one on his own) the Router and have
Internet connection you need to configure the sharing, and you would have
local access between them too.

Look at the information I gave you on your 12:01 post. I would also
recommend that you get off the web interface to the newsgroups and use a
newsreader like Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail.

You can't hide the network. Instead, secure it by changing the SSID name
from default, changing the router configuration password from default, and
use high-level encryption like WPA2-PSK.
