Default Remote access solution

I need to be able to access the files on my PC when I'm away from the Office
using my laptop. Is there a very simple remote access solution I can use?
The PC of course is going to be unattended so nothing that requires manual
authentication such as crossloop will be any use.

This can be done by using commercial software like pcAnywhere, free software
like one of the many flavors of VNC, or by setting up a Virtual Private
Network (VPN). What you choose depends on the operating systems involved,
whether the office is on a domain, and your needs. Since you didn't give
any of those details, that's as specific as I can get. You should start by
talking to your office's IT Dept.

http://www.logmein.com is your friend. And free.

1st, from your office PC, go to the link above and install the client
software (logmein Pro). Afterward, you will be able to access this PC from
anywhere on the internet - for free.

Hi
If office means a business environment, you have to start (as mentioned by
Malke) with the local IT people.
If office means Home Office, or small office under your control, maybe this
can Help.

As noted by the others the OP really needs to check with his office IT folks
about this issue. If there is a legitimate work related need then the IT
folks can help with this issue.

If not then connecting an untrusted computer/network to the trusted office
computer/network may violate company policies.

Hi
Team viewer is actually a fancy UltraVNC that the Single Click aspect was
already done.
As usual there are few aspect that make more comfortable than the regular
UltraVNC and some aspects that I prefer to stay with VNC.
With the passage and the type of work that I do from remote I learned when
to use Windows RDT and when to use UVNC in I am happy with both.

I have no reason to believe that he means to to this without authorization.
Or, no reason to believe that he is not in charge of his PC at his own
office. And even if he did mean someone else's office, many small businesses
operate this way all the time. Routine stuff. Not everyone is held captive
in a corporate IT structure. Although, I was, before I retired and became a
consultant. And I admit that, at first, my world had the "corporate IT
tunnel vision" syndrome. That was before I became a consultant and had to
deal with real everyday small business needs. They are quite different than
corporate conglamorates.
