I too am experiencing socket error 10060 and error number 0x800CCC0E and
error number 0x800CCC0D. I have spoken with my ISP and they have determined it is not them, I have removed my Norton Internet Security and the problem remains and it is now recommended that it is a Microsoft problem. Several posts with this same problem. Microsoft what next? "Original Designs Stationery" wrote: I can no longer send emails from 3 of my 4 email accounts using Windows Mail. Ordinarily you'd get "No such host" for smPT.citymax.com but I see that
CityMax has aliased it to smTP.citymax.com. Nice touch. I assume your Internet connection is being obtained from Comcast. In order to get this to work, make the following changes: 1. In Windows Mail go to Tools, Accounts, select the Gina ODS account, click Properties, Servers. Change the name of the outgoing (SMTP) server to smtp.comcast.net. Do not change the incoming server. Also, make sure that the "My server requires authentication" option is checked. Click the adjacent "Settings" button. Select "Log on using" then enter your Comcast username and password. Click OK. 2. Go to the Advanced tab and verify that the port number for the outgoing (SMTP) server is still 587. Click OK. Try sending. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Original Designs Stationery" om wrote in message ... I can no longer send emails from 3 of my 4 email accounts using Windows Mail. After you uninstalled Norton antivirus, did you follow that up with their
special removal tool: http://service1.symantec.com/Support...05033108162039 If the problem continues, right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here. We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "jehopp" wrote in message ... I also am now dealing with this irritating problem. I experienced this one time before, about a year ago, and my webhosting guys suggested I switch the port from 25 to 26, or 26 to 25, can't remember, and that immediately worked. Now it is not working. Are there other magical port #'s I can try, because I have done a few, to no avail this time. I have tons of replies that are stuck. This is my exact error message it gives, since last night, and it continues to receive e-mails no problem somehow, just can't send. An unknown error has occurred. Thanks Peter, however it didn't work. I received your e-mail but when I changed the port to that #, I ended up with this message: THE CONNECTION TO THE SERVER HAS FAILED. ACCOUNT: 'MAIL.LILKIDS.COM', SERVER: 'MAIL.LILKIDS.COM', PROTOCOL: SMTP, PORT: 587, SECURE(SSL): NO, SOCKET ERROR: 10060, ERROR NUMBER: 0X800CCC0E I wonder if A1webserver is having a problem. That's my host for the website, but the website is up as normal. However the guys there have not responded to my e-mails from this morning asking for help. I know there's nothing wrong with my CPU. Is it my Outlook Express that is messed up, or the server? Very frustrating past 20 hours. -- TigerWoods ------------------------------------------------------------------------ TigerWoods's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/105015.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...il/1130650.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
