You are having difficulties because you are not posting on a real forum as
you think you are. You are using a web interface that leeches Usenet posts
and most of the rest of us are using real newsreaders. We don't see what
you do. If you want to participate in Usenet, the better way is to set up a
newsreader. This is very easy to do and I'll give you information about
that below. If you prefer to use a forum, then here are two excellent ones:

http://forum.aumha.org/index.php
http://http://computerhaven.info/

Since you are using a web interface, you may not realize that this is really
a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to use
a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use
Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it.
Here are some links to information about newsgroups:

About Usenet:

http://www.faqs.org/faqs/ - Usenet FAQs from the Internet FAQ Archives
http://www.usenetmonster.com/infocenter/

of newsgroups

Outlook Express/Windows Mail as Newsreader:

http://users.tpg.com.au/bzyhjr/liszt.htm - How Not to Get Technical Help on
Usenet

properly

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossposting - crossposting
http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm - multiposting

Other Newsreaders for Windows:
http://www.forteinc.com/main/homepage.php - Forte
http://www.mozilla.org - Thunderbird

So I can't answer your question because I have no idea what you wrote in a
different post. I also have no idea what you've already tried, but one
thing to do is to disable power saving on your network adapter (NIC). Go
into Device Manager (provide password when prompted by UAC), find the
network adapter category, expand it, double-click on your NIC. On the power
management tab, uncheck "allow the system to turn off this device when not
in use". Do that on both the remote and host computers.

Hi
It can be the laptop, or the Internet connection, or the way the system set
at work.
I could start with checking at the work site to make sure that the
credentials and the compatibility are correctly set.
Then as a first step make sure that you can maintain the connection when it
done locally through the work's site Network (i.e ruling out Internet
connection problems).

Default remote desktop loses connection

I response to the help I recieved, Thank You. I was able to connect een
after the networking person at work could not after I got a new laptop
with vista 64. I would open my home email account through my meg dsl
connection, and my work home page and then pn connect and the connect
through my work desktop to my dsl email account leaving all connections
open. And doing this 3 times in a row sometimes would make the
connection stay active and not drop.

In the process the network person at work has come under the microscope
for not making this happen (connection) sooner and smoother for me and
others. I know that maybe it might seem natural it was my relentless
nature and time that I had on hand to perservere that I made it happen
and am not sure still that that is what made it work, I feel bad for the
network person at this time and am takig a break.

Thank you
