Dear All: My system has a high CPU utilization. I was running on old version of XP Pro. I recently performed a bare metal install of Vista x64, and the system is still running with a high CPU utilization. I installed the latest Process Explorer (v11.33) and the highest processes listed by Context Switches, since the last reboot, are as follows: Interrupts: 3,295,841,442 System Idle Process: 475,433,737 DPCs: 145,683,890 I assume the high level of Interrupts is causing that problem. I assume that is a hardware issue. How can I determine what is the problem. Also, I read in other posts, one can get information on the number of Interrupts from Vista's Resource Monitor. How? Thank you. Jeff -- jvpulver |

Dear All: After my initial post, I rebooted the system, and the problem has not happened again. I assume that means there was a termporarily malfunctioning piece of hardware. The counts of Interrupts and System Idle Process in Context Switches are very close together now. In my original post, the Interrupts were 7x as high as the System Idle Processes. Jeff -- jvpulver |
