Hello, I have three computers, 2 XP and a Vista. The computer with Vista has an USB shared printer. All three computers have captured LPT ports to this printer with NET USE LPTx '\\SERVER\PRINTER' (file://\\SERVER\PRINTER) /PERSISTENT:YES. I can print with an MS-DOS program to that printer from any XP computer and from command line on the Vista itself but not from the MS-DOS program on Vista. I receive a Printer no ready error. I suspect this is a matter with permissions but I can't figure out what, where or how to change them. Anybody knows where can I look at those permissions? Thanks. -- putadedeu Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

Do you have 3rd party security software? Or try clean boot for

Hi Bob, Thank you very much for your quick answer. But the question is simply wheter it is possible or not to change the permissions level for a printer. If I'm really right about the problem is about permissions, but this is another subject. Robert L. \(MS-MVP\);1185197 Wrote: Do you have 3rd party security software? By default, everyone should have a permission to print. If you do want to
check the permission or add more permissions, click Start, type print, select print management and then the printer properties to check the Security. -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "putadedeu" wrote in message news ![]() Hi Bob, Thank you very much for your quick answer.
