Default Sidebar Stops after Profile Switch

I have been living with an annoying sidebar issue and have been trying
different fixes for related issues.

Here is the problem. When I boot and select profile to log into I have
absolutely no problems with sidebar. However, if I switch profiles
either by logging out or sitching users the sidebar will not work. All
I see is the background area for the sidebar with no gadgets. I will
often see "ghost text" leftover from an application while using the new
profile. The only way I can fix it is to reboot.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul
