When I login to Vista x64 (this doesn't happen on Vista x86), about every
third time I get a proxy login message. Since I don't have a proxy server and the login box says that the server is 0.0.0.0, it is obviously a bug. Anyone know how to turn this off? I have already disabled "Detect Proxy Server" in Internet Options. Thanks, -Erik |

Hi
Without technical Data concerning the Network and Internet connection there is No way knowing what the trouble is. It could be some issue with your Internet authentication. It is a standard Linksys router with DHCP. No proxy server anywhere.

I am trying that. I don't see what it has to do with a proxy though. Sorry, didn't help. I still get the dummy proxy login screen every third
boot or so. I have noticed that IE sits and spins for 15-20 seconds on startup as well. Probably related. Why can't I just turn off the proxy stuff? Hardly anyone every uses a proxy server anymore with free disk space and high bandwidth connections readily available these days. The last proxy server I saw was over 10 years ago... -Erik "Jack-MVP" wrote: Hi Maybe this can Help, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233 Jack (MS, MVP-Networking) "Erik HG" wrote in message ...
