Default What dvd burner works in Vista x64?

Most posts want advice on how to resolve an issue with existing hardware
or software. I'm asking for advice on what to buy to avoid any issues. I
need a SATA DVD burner for my new x64 build. So far I just have the
case, power supply, and processor. In my wish list is the RAM, MB, HD,
and OS. Each has been verified to at least "work" with x64 Vista
according to the MS compatibility list. Now I'm looking for a DVD burner
that some of you existing x64 users have installed and like.

Suggestions? I appreciate all feedback.

Any Pioneer (SATA) drive will work wonders. Also take a look at CDFreaks.com
for their ratings to give you a little better insight on dvd burners on the
market. I have used Pioneer burners for over 7 years without a single
problem.

Hi AutoCog,

I have the PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-216 ATA working fine under Vista x64 (and
under Windows 7 Beta x64). No problems with it at all

I've had very good luck with Lite-On DVD burners with Lightscribe.
They're among the cheapest, too although these days there's not
much difference in price.
