AMD 64 1.6GHz, hardwared mirrored SATA disks, 512MB memory,
advanced performance options set for programs. When copying 200GB files off a shared drive from a win2k system on 100bT link, Vista RC1 is unresponsive. Thoughts? |

If I initiate the copy from any OTHER O/S, the speed is normal. Push the file from W2K/XPpro/W98se to Vista. Good speed. Pull a Vista file to W2K/XPpro/W98se. Speed good(few minutes/G on a 100M LAN). Try either from Vista and you are talking over an HOUR (even with the Firewall and A/V disabled) |

Eg, if Vista has indexing, have you turned it off and tried the same copy procedure again? |
