Flashing Dlink DCM202 Modem
Has anyone been able to flash the firmware for the DLink DCM202 modem.
The instructions on the website are worthless. Calling tech support for this problem is also worthless. I have downloaded the latest firmware but a BIN file is not executable and DLink does not provide an executable file for this task. I am hoping to get the firmware up from v1.03 to 2.00 and thereby eliminate all of the connection problems I have experienced since Cox has upgraded their network. This modem is not one of the approved modems for the network since the upgrade. Any help appreciated. If you have been able to flash the firmware please post the precise steps along with the program you used to execute the BIN file. TIA |

Flashing Dlink DCM202 Modem
Thanks for the response. Spoke with Cox and just ordered a new
Motorola 5101. Hopefully, they will now drop this one any time soon. oldman On Sun, 15 Mar 2009 06:20:59 -0400, Barb Bowman wrote: cable companies upgrade firmware in customer owned modems as well as their own modems. tech support probably doesn't have all the answers. engineering doesn't normally tell customer care the details of modem upgrades. cable companies do not want end users upgrading modems (it is considered hacking). The DCM202 may be upgraded by Cox if and when CableLabs certifies revised firmware that D-Link submits to fix issues and Cox decides to roll it out. You really should consider leasing a modem or purchasing a new one. On Sat, 14 Mar 2009 16:03:25 -0700, wrote: Has anyone been able to flash the firmware for the DLink DCM202 modem.
