I have 3 computers on my home network:
1) MCE 2005, SP3, 32 bit XP, 802.11n 2) Vista Home Premium, SP1, 32 bit, 802.11g 3) Vista Home Premium, SP1, 64 bit, 802.11n 4) Linksys 802.11n router Computer 1 is my main media center on which I record and "serve" tv to the others. Computer 2 (Vista 32) id's and plays everything just fine (in Media Center and Windows Media Player 11). Checking out the network map shows the "server" as both a "computer" and as a "media player." Computer 3 (Vista 64) id's and plays photos and music from Computer 1 (the "server"), but does not see recorded tv in either Media Center or WMP11. It will play recorded tv from its c drive just fine. It will also play recorded tv from Computer 1 using webguide. Checking out the network map shows the "server" only as a "media player." When I try to add folders to watch to the library in either Media Center or WMP this computer does not see the shared folders on my "server." I'm sure I've overlooked something simple, but what the heck am I doing wrong? |
