I just bought a new computer 11 days ago with Vista home premium with 64-bit operating system and now I can't save any type of file. I click save or save as and nothing at all happens. If I close a spreadsheet and it ask if I want to save, I can click on yes and still nothing happens. Right clicking on a picture to save as, nothing happens. Please help me figure this out and is there anything thing else I should download to make vista run better? ![]() -- pjc62 |

Have you activated whatever program you are using to create these docs?
And if Office, is it maybe a trial version? No new PC comes with any version of office, other than a trial, unless you paid extra for it "pjc62" wrote in message ... This sounds as if it is a problem with the software program you are using.
You have Vista 64 bit installed. Are you certain that the said program is compatible with a 64 bit operating system? -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "pjc62" wrote in message ... Thank you for the replies, but none of that helps. I can't save any type of files from anything, if it's explorer or Microsoft works or a picture I just scanned it will not save anything at all. I click on save or save as and nothing happens, even if it's a trial, it should still let you save a file. I've down loaded all up grades that are available but nothing helps. I don't want to pay 60 buck to Microsoft to have some guy in India that I can't understand try to tell me how to fix this -- pjc62 |

If the same problem exists on the factory install, return the machine to where you bought it for replacement.
