Howdy all you Guru's,
I have 4 vista 32 bit machines. 1 will update beautifully. When I go to run the Windows update, the other 3 "time out". They sit there with a blank box on the screen for well over 5 minutes, before in sheer frustration, I trash it. I know at least 1 machine is saying it has 350Mb of downloads to do, but when I tell it to start, it does nothing. All are running SP1. Help! Please. I want to go home..... hehe PS Yes, this is also posted in the Technet Australia forums. :-) |

The direct connect may be down for scheduled maintainence or simply rehauling after the storms in late 2008 plus the beta release of 7 in January. -- Night Hawk |

Unfortunately, I have been able to get 1 of the 4 machines to update flawlessly. I had automatic updates turned off, and did a forced update today, using the normal Vista Windows update. The other 3 machines which were set to auto update daily at 3am have not done so. It is driving me nuts. ![]() Thanks for the help though, it is very much appreciated. Mtblade |

i would try deleting the internet temp files and any files in %temp% then
try to download any update from MS downloads to a flash dive and run manually if it works OK is it something on your modem router (just a guess) reset all the connection and try again.
