My situation: New HP Laptop PC with RealTek RTL8102E/8103E Family PCI-E FE NIC and Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN adapter, connected to WRTP54G Linksys Router, to Comcast cable modem. PC will connect (local and internet) wireless, but will not find and identify the router when hardwired. Can remove the router from the equation and plug the cable modem in directly and Vista will find and connect to internet. Am able to ping the router, but no internet connection. Please help! -- tgirten ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tgirten's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/85082.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...rk/1147656.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

Hi
Did you try to disable the Wireless and then connect with the wire? Check the wire card's TCP/IP configuration and make sure that it is set to Auto Obtain. Check the Router's DHCP and see if there is allowance to few computers. Jack (MS, MVP-Networking) "tgirten" wrote in message ...
