I recently bought a new Vista, and saved a few pictures off of the internet, and saved them to my 'Downloads' folder. I went to preview them(in Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Paint, and Picture Manager), and they would not show up. there were 27 files: 11 PNG, 2 GIF, and 14 JPEG. 3 JPEG and2 PNG will work, but the rest won't. I attempted to upload them to photobucket, with the same results. Anyone know how to fix this? -- Savantal |

I am probably way off, but from what I know, Windows Photo Gallery can only
see what's in the Pictures folder. t-4-2 "John Carey" wrote in message ... If you open the picture from any file, it will open. because I had pictures in the same folder, not the 'Pictures' folder, and they opened just fine. -- Savantal |

Sorry, that's not what I meant.
If you have pictures in Doc. folder, of course you can open the Doc folder and see the pictures there. But, you won't find those same pictures in Photo Gallery. Photo Gallery only see what's in the Pictures Folder. That's what I meant. You need to move those pictures from Doc folder to Pictures folder. t-4-2 "Savantal" wrote in message ... Unfortunately, it did. the files were apparently just corrupt. Nothing major anymore about Photo Gallery or anything, just a mistake i overlooked. thanks for your help though. -- Savantal |

I haven't checked this newsgroup in about a year...
but one thing hasn't changed. You are still giving out wrong information! ANY folder that contains photos can be imported into Photo Gallery. t-4-2 wrote: I am probably way off, but from what I know, Windows Photo Gallery can only see what's in the Pictures folder. t-4-2 "John Carey" wrote in message ... Who said pictures from other folders canNOT be Imported to Photo Gallery ?
I said if you had pictures in say Document folder, and you clicked open the Photo Gallery, those pictures would not be present there. Here is what I wrote : " I am probably way off, but from what I know, Windows Photo Gallery can only see what's in the Pictures folder. " t-4-2 "Bob" nowhere@nowhere/net wrote in message ...
