Default Several issues with Unmountable_boot_volume and unable to get it to read the recovery disk

I have a new desktop, less than a year old. Today I was in the middle of
my work day and the computer just froze. It has done that from time to
time. I could not do a normal reboot so I had to do a hard boot. At
first it looked like it was able to read the Windows files but then it
just went to a black screen with a cursor and hung on that until I did
another hard reboot. I was able to get into safe mode but then it just
gave me a new set of error messages. I tried to go to a previous restore
date but I was unable to do that either. My computer gets very hot at
times and it can be loud. Like a loud fan but I think that is actually
the hard drive. I don't have the warranty on it. If I need to get a new
hard drive, fine, I just would like to know what is happening so I don't
waste any more time trying to fix something that is toast.

unmountable_boot_volume

This is the last error message I rec'd.

stop:0x000000ED (0x83c72a48, 0xc0000010, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Any help you can give me is much appreciated. Thanks,
Lucky

If the disk has been noisy for some time it has probably now failed.
Download and run its manufacturer's diagnostic utility to confirm.

The warranty will be with the disk manufacturer and the drive's serial
number will be enough to show, on the manufacturer's returns page,
whether it is still under warranty.

You will have to ship the drive at your expense and wait for the
replacement, so it may be quicker and easier to buy a new disk. A 320GB
disk will not cost much these days.

You may also be covered by a Gateway warranty if the machine is under a
year old.

I hope your data is backed up. It may still be possible to read and
recover the data from the drive without an expensive trip to a recovery
specialist. A replacement from a disk manufacturer or Gateway warranty
repair will not include data recovery and you would no longer have the
drive to recover your data from.

Thanks, I will try that. As far as the 'noise' goes, I've had a failing
hardrive in the past and it sounded like something out of the movie
Psycho. This drive has always been loud. Like an engine that races every
now and then. I have all of my info backed up on my Seagate.

Thanks again.
And sorry for the duplicate post. It was accidental.
