how much more ram my PC can take?
I want to put more ram on my PC & I don't know where I can found out
how much it can take.
I tried crucial.com/uk but everytime I try to run the scan, my PC gets
the blue screen.

Here's my PC: 'ALDI - Thursday Special Buys 27th November 2008'

If that is your system as shown then I would leave everything as is. You have plenty
of everything including RAM

I run Vista 32 bit without any problems in 1GB of Ram.
What Memory intensive applications are you running that would benefit from
more the 4GB?

Scorpzzz, why do you need more RAM? The system you have linked to has more
than enough. My system only has 2GB RAM (mainly because I can't upgrade
anymore without putting in a new motherboard) and I'm running both Windows
Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 Ultimate (Beta) without any problems.

well first of all how much ram do you have now? what kind of computer do
you have and what do you use it for?... it might give you a better idea
of what you should be looking at.. just because you need to get more ram
doesn't mean you have to get the most your computer can handle, lol.

good luck

I quote from that computer's web site: 2 When the PC has 4 GB or more of RAM
installed the whole memory may not be available for use by the OS and
applications. The actual usable memory can vary and is dependent on the OS
installed and the configuration of that OS.

Understand that only 64-bit machines with a 64-bit operating system can
utilize more RAM.

I have 4gb DDR2 ram installed right now. I have a Medion Akoya P7300 d &
I mainly use it for gaming. I also run quite a few programs
simultaneously. (Photoshop, After effects etc.)
I don't really want to be opening it up right now though...

Do you have 32bit Vista or 64 bit Vista installed?
1. Do use more then 4gb you need to have 64bit Vista installed and your MOBO
needs to support more then 4GB. Check with your vendor to find out how much
the MOBO will support?

So why did you start this thread?

You wrote in the opening post:

found out how much it can take.

You think you can add RAM by wishing it into its slot?

ok

well what you need to do is find out what kind of motherboard you have,
read up what it can handle and go from there.
