The device driver is MTP for an MP3 player. The player is set up to use MTP
but reverts to MSC mode when connected. It still works OK via WMP etc so this is an annoyance rather than a serious issue. In device Manager the MTP device is marked with !, details as per posting. This all happened after running WinOptimiser which seems to have deleted some wanted files, it trashed MS Money which had to be re-installed. Trying to update driver and deleting/re-installing MTP driver leads to same error which occurs when PC is booted. P&P service OK. Peter "tanuj_chadha" wrote in message ...
