Default Vista HP bootup issues

Howdy,

Right, so I've had my Vista for a while, I don't remember exactly when
I got it, but today, about 1400 Central, after I rebooted I was so
extremely politely informed that my winload.exe is corrupted, alright,
so that's an easy fix, just manage to get to Command Prompt, and run
fixboot outta C:\windows. Only problem is the only commands that work
when I go to boot up my computer, before it gives me the lovely error
screen, are ESC - Boot Menu, F10 - Settings, and holding F1, which gets
me to a useless BIOS screen that tells me either winload.exe, or
memtest.exe is corrupted, depending on what commands I choose. Any help
in getting to command prompt/DOS/whatever y'wanna call it, would be
greatly appreciated.

**It's an HP Pavilion, if it matters any.

Unfortunately none of the function keys are working other than F1 and
F10. It seems to ignore any command I issue other than what I posted
previously.

Thanks though.

Due to my... lack of a life without my computer, I downgraded to XP.
Thanks for the attempt at help, and hope this helps someone, though I
don't see how it really can. =P
