Default Does Vista support IEEE1394 cable link two notebooks?

I have two notebooks which have a IEEE1394 4-pin port and are both installed
Windows Vista Ulitmate.Can I use a IEEE1394 cable(4-pin either end) link them?
I have tried several times and havn't got success.I can link my notebook
with 1394 digital camera use IEEE1394 4-pin cable(either end).I can find 1394
host controller in device manager but I can't find 1394 network adapter in
device manager and I can't find 1394 network connection in control pannel's
network connection page. But I can find 1394 host controller in device manager
and find 1394 network adapter in device manager and I can find 1394 network
connection in control pannel's network connection page in my friend's
notebook which installed Windows XP.
I want to know this:Vista doesn't support IEEE1394 cable link two notebook?
Could you reply me as soon as possible?
Thanks!
