Default Network Icon is not working


my nerwork icon on the desktop is not working, even im online it still
showing a red X. when i click it is says "the service to detect this
status is turn off." then it asks me "do you want to turn on network
list service.", when i click turn on, nothing happend the problem still
here, does anyone can help? thanks

Hello Facecon, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might also manually check to make sure that the *Network
Connections*, *Network List Service*, *Network Location Awareness*, and
*Network Store Interface Service* '*_services_* '
(http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/59...vices.html)are set to
*Started* and *Automatic*. Sometimes restarting the computer afterwards
will reset the network icon as well and allow it to work properly.

thank you.fixed it by some other ways but still...hehe.

1,start-dcomcnfg
2,Component Services-Computers-My computer_DCOM config-netprofm
3,Right Click,Properties-Secutiry-Launch and Activation
Permissions-Cunstomize-Edit
4,Add-"LOCAL SERVICE"-OK
5,check the local launch and local actication box
6,Apply
7,Start-services.mac
8,services-Network List Service-Start

Hi Shawn, in the above post my facecon, do you think there are lost of
spelling mistakes? I have never heard of such commands before...

Yeah, there are a few spelling mistakes, but it's ok otherwise I believe
until I get to here.
