RAID 1 instructions needed
I have a HP m8430f (Intel Core Quad/2.40GHz/4GB/Vista Home Premium x64) and need detailed instructions on how to set-up a RAID 1. I have a 1TB Seagate FreeAgent Xtreme that has a ton of movies and music on it that I want backed up. Ideally I want all the files I put on the Seagate to transfer to the 1TB Western Digital green drive I just bought automatically. The WD is in a Vantec NexStar MX Dual 3.5 Raid Enclosure. I have no idea what I'm doing so very detailed instructions would be very helpful. Thanks! -- snoopyhead101 |

RAID 1 instructions needed
Both drives you mention are external drives
Your Vantec will have instructions on how to configure the raid, for which you will need two disk drives, preferably the same size, but it appears you only purchased one. You will then need some third party backup software to backup or copy from one external to the other Me thinks you are going about this completely the wrong way, once your external raid is configured for mirror, you store your data files on that, then use the Seagate as a second backup "snoopyhead101" wrote in message ...
