On a Toshiba with Vista Home Premium, it won't allow Updates to open the
site. Whether from the Start menu, or Microsoft.com. It says Windows Explorer has a problem and needs to shut down, which closes all windows. From any access point the same problem occurs trying to get updates. I did download and install Service Pack 1 and it says it is installed, and only 14 updates are showing in the Programs installed window. I did that through the Download area of MS.com. The computer was bought used with no real history behind the previous installs. I believe this Vista install was over an original XP OS. The HD is around 90GB and less than 40GB is in use. |

If you want to check for updates manually, follow these steps: 1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update. 2. In the left pane, click Check for updates. Also see: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dow...dowsvista.mspx I've noticed with SP 1, the option to start using Microsoft Update is under Change Settings. -- TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2009 - Update Services http://taurarian.mvps.org ====================================== Disclaimer: The information has been posted "as is" with no warranties or guarantees and doesn't give any rights. |
