Msconfig "Boot" problem!

I resently limited my RAM to 3072mb or 3GB in the msconfig boot tab, not
knowing that it would stay like that permanently! i need help with this
to get my 1GB back - it was originally 4GB but i limited it to 3.

Uncheck Maximum Memory.
