Default stereo mix

I have recently purchased compaq presario cq60 note book pc with Vista
version 6. To my disappointment it dose not have Stereo mix as a function in
recording. I have enabled show disconnected and inactive as advised on
various web sites and the option dose not come up, I would greatly
appreciate any advice on how to apply stereo mix.

Your hardware and its drivers needs to support this. Apparently yours
doesn't.
