Dvd rw won't load driver
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop that has an internal dvd rw drive it has
worked just fine up until recently it will not load the driver for this device. I have uninstalled the device, tried to update the driver ( the driver is current) yet nothing seems to work. The system recognizes the drive. Any suggestions? |

Make sure the drive is securely inserted in its compartment in the laptop.
I have a 3-4 year old Inspiron which, when it was new and I lugged it around with me, would occasionally require that the hard drive be reseated. If you have not done so the best way to reinstall the driver is to delete it then reboot. If the drive is properly installed and the OS driver will not install the driver then the DVD drive is probably kaput. These are user replaceable items. |
