Default slow boot 195 sec. windows update KB954430?

For the last few days my 'pc' (http://www.vistax64.com/#) takes three
and half minutes to load. I did have the windows update KB954430
installed around that time.
All malware and virus scans come up clean. Could this update be the
problem?
It takes 90 sec. to get to the welcome screen, then the screen goes
black untill the programs begin to load at 195 seconds. the loading of
programs seems to be in a normal time frame.

I posted the above on the windows BBS two weeks ago, ('slow boot 195
sec. windows update KB954430?'
but the problem did not get resolved. The shut down time is normal. I
have since ran all scans (Zone Alarm Security Suite, Malware Bytes,
Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy and CC Cleaner) several times and no
nasties were discovered. I hope someone can help me with this, lest I
keep the pc on all the time.

I have waityed to see if more replies would come from the windows BBS. I
tried several times to restore, but each time the notification stated
something like: could not be restored to specified date. Since the Last
reply from the Windows BBS, I have done nothing else since I have no
clue as to how all works. It is like my car, I can drive it, but do not
know anything about how it works
ps. I am not sure if it was that update

Since your restore points have apparently failed or become corrupt have you
scanned your PC for malaware?
