I decided to do a few benchmarks for myself and here are the results us
Passmark v7
pass 2 is done with updated drivers for video and motherboard

Vista x86
windows exp 3.5
pass 1 = 619.6
pass 2 = 627.2

Vista x64
windows exp 3.6
pass 1 = 691.9
pass 2 = 713.9

Win7 x86
windows exp 3.5
pass 1 = 581.5
did not update drivers with win7 as non available as to what i already
had.

Although win7 feels faster to browse. At this point intime with beta it
couldnt been Vista x64.

Translating:
It appears you have shown that the drivers in the public beta of Win are
not optimized.
My experience:
A wide variety of Vista 64 drivers will not work at all in the Win 7-64
public beta despite Microsoft's claims of driver compatibility.
