Default Unexpected shutdowns


HEY GUYS. RECENTLY MY LAPTOP HAS UNDERGONE A FAIR FEW UNEXPECTED
SHUTDOWNS. THESE USUALLY OCCUR HALFWAY THROUGH RUNNING A DISK DEFRAG
(USING VISTAS OWN DEFRAG PROGRAM).

HERE IS THE ERROR INFORMATION WINDOWS GIVES.
Problem signature
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

Files that help describe the problem (some files may no longer be
available)

Any ideas as to whats causing this.


Sounds like hardware - overheating, failing hard drive, etc. Either
troubleshoot it yourself or take the machine to a competent local computer
tech. Don't use a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place.

Default Unexpected shutdowns

most common problem is over heating.

best not to try canned air as it can make the problem worse.
if you do not know of a RELIABLE computer store in your area try to find a computer club.

if the heat persists it can cause worse problems with the other hardware.
