Installed Acronis True Image Home 2009 & Card Reader would not inatall - Code 10 "unable to load device driver" -Solution
If your Card Readers will not install (code 10, "working" but "unable
to load drivers" and you installed Acronis True Image Home 2009, True Image may be the problem. Purchased and download Acronis True Image Home 2009 on 2/19/2009. Installed. (Acronis did not provide the latest version).) Spent hours, actually I mean days, trying to discover why my card reader devices disappeared. Only after a careful, painful rebuild of my system that a known problem in some versions of Acronis True Image Home 2009 was causing the problem. If you are experiencing this problem, uninstall True Image. If the card readesr appear, you may wish to update Acronis True Image Home 2009 and share your experience with Acronis: Acronis True Image Home v. 12.0.9608 caused the problem.Version 12.0.9709 does not cause the problem but installs very slowly and starts slowly. I think that Acronis True Image Home was (is?) a good product but version 2009 Home (under MS Vista) does not encouage me to recommend a purchase or an upgrade. Hope this helps those like me that are very unhappy with Acronis communications. Substantive feedback from Acronis is welcomed. |
