Default Startup problem blank screen SVCHOST properties

Hi,

I am using dell inspiron laptop
Vista home basic OS

When i start my notebook, i get blank screen with a window
"SVCHOST Properties" it has an option "Restore"

but if i click on it, nothing happens....

SO when i hit Alt+Cntrl+Del i get screen with options and i choose task
manager and run a new task --explorer.exe--. Then all is fine....! I
can also enter the task regedit without problem.

but on restart i have the same problem --- blank screen. I tried to
follow one of the links from this forum

http://www.vistax64.com/vista-genera...m-startup.html

Look for the NAME: Shell

My guess is the reg DATA might say something like this.

Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Config\csrss.exe

If it is different I would like to know please post it.

===========It was different , it was
explorer.exe

Can you please help me regarding this.

pats.
