Had to re-boot entire laptop, since then the sd reader slot in computer
doesn't work. I have tried different cards but when place in slot nothing
happens. Please help. I have a Toshiba Satalite with Vista home Premium.

A computer is rebooted every time it is turned off and back on. Did you mean
that you had to reload your operating system due to a major malfunction?

If so, you also need to install the requisite drivers for your hardware to
interface with the operating system. Go to the web page of your computer
manufacturer and hunt down the drivers for your particular model computer.

Sorry, tried that, got nowhere. Even called Toshiba technical support, they
couldn't find anything wrong. Their only solution was for me to send it in to
there technical repair for a charge of $400. and hope that they could resolve
the issue that way. Otherwise they said it has to be something else.

Go into Device Manager and remove each of the drives associated with the
slot reader. Reboot. See if the various drives are redetected correctly this
time. If not it could be that the reader has gone south. External readers
only cost about $20.00 and is way cheaper than having the computer rep[aired
by the manufacturer.
