Since you clipped all previous responses in this thread there is absolutely
nothing for many of us to read about what your problem is since only the
subject line provides a clue.

It's posted at the beginning of the thread. Here it is again to make it
easier.

I can't get my laptop to recognize my dvd burner. I read earlier
threads about deleting the upper and lower filters in the registry but,
I can't find those filters in the registry file. What am I doing wrong?

Tried the MS Fix it. It says "This Microsoft Fix it does not apply to
you OS or application version."

Most people DO NOT USE THAT USENET GATEWAY. See how many are
"guests"? NONE of those people have a clue what is in the thread,
especially if it's an older thread. WHY? Because we use a news
reader that picks up NEW posts.

Please quote what you are replying to.

Many of us that support many different newsgroups delete a lot of threads in
order to conserve disk capacity than you for posting the problem
description.
Have you checked the HP Website for updated Vista 64 drivers for your
computer?

All I could find was firmware for my DVD burner. It was listed for
another laptop.
