I've tried using System Restore picking a dozen different restore points. I
get the same message: System restore was unable to complete successfully. My computer is also very slow at the moment. Thanks for your input. |

I have done this. No joy.
One thing, perhaps related. The reason I wanted to restore my system was because of a problem that has just arisen. I can load Quattro Pro X4, but when I try to open either of two documents created yesterday and both with macros in them (the only ones with macros), the program stops working and shuts down. My OS, by the way, is Vista Home Premium (Build 6000). Another thing. Could the Windows Restore problem be caused by my anti-virus program (Panda)? I'm wondering about the advisibility of reinstalling my OS. It came preinstalled on an HP laptop but, according to the Help section, I can reinstall without losing either data or installed programs. Any suggestions gratefully received.
