Ran sfc /scannow as an administrator.
Received the following message when it finished. Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.log, etc. Copied the CBS.log to my desktop and opened it. It was quite large so I deleted all entries except those made today. I didn't really know what I was looking for, but there didn't appear to be any anomalies. The last two lines in the log we 2009-05-13 09:18:11, Info CSI 000001cd [SR] Verify and Repair Transaction completed. All files and registry keys listed in this transaction have been successfully repaired. 2009-05-13 09:19:45, Info CBS Scavenge: Package store indicates there is no component to scavenge, skipping. These two lines seem to be saying that all is well and that it was not necessary to find any replacement files. I'd appreciate very much if someone could explain why I received the error message if there wasn't an error, or why sfc said everything was O.K. if there were errors. thank you tons, anne |
