Mass Storage Controller Driver
Hi, I have a Sony Vaio VGNFS980 running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I cannot locate a driver for the mass storage controller. The Mass Storage Controller and Unknown Device both show up in the Device Manager with yellow !!!. I just cannot find a driver to work. Any help would be appreciated.  -- KEVINLINN

You need the motherboard (chipset) driver and/or possibly an additional RAID controller driver. Get the drivers from Sony's website for your specific model machine. If you added a third-party controller yourself (RAID, USB, Firewire, etc.) then get the drivers from that mftr.'s website. Mass Storage Controller Driver
I checked the specs on your laptop and it uses Intel® 915GM chipset.
This will take you to the license agreement screen, hit accept at the bottom and preceed to download INFINST_AUTOL.EXE. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/lice...stems&lang=eng It will install and enumerate other devices associated with the chipset after rebooting.
