Default Movie maker & xvid codec

Hello,

I have some .avi format videos which play ok in Mediaplayer but which won't
play in MovieMaker. When I try to imoprt the file MovieMaker crashes and
starts to 'search for a solution'

Is this a problem with the codec (xvid) which I uderstand to be the same as
Divx ?

Thanks

KK

Yes it's a codec issue. The file is best converted to one that works well in
Movie Maker before using in a project.

See the Import Movie Source Files Video section of my website.
