Default CAN NO LONGER CONNECT XP TO VISTA

Old, established, stable, working network of 2 Vista (32) and 2 XP home.

Two Vista computers can connect to each other and to two XP computers. The
two XP computers cannot connect to either Vista computer or each other. All
four can connect to internet (not router). Heard rumor that Vista security
update last week caused problem.

Suggestions?

For troubleshooting, try to boot to safe mode with network. Can you ping
Vista?
How to Run Windows safe Mode with Networking
3. Choose the Safe Mode with Networking, and press Enter. 4. Confirm
whether the problem also happened in Safe Mode. Post your questions,
