Default Why doesn't Vista Business CD detect the backup from my Fujitsu laptop?

Dear members,

12 months ago, purchased Fujitsu Lifebook S-series factory loaded with
Vista business 32 bit. I do my Complete PC backups once a week to a
number of USB HDD (Maxtors and Lacie).

Lately, when I wanted to restore, it forced me to restore from the
"recovery partition" which forced me to use the Fujitsu Recovery Discs.
That's not what I wanted so I aborted.

So I purchased Vista Business 32-bit. When I used the CD to perform the
restore, it just didn't detect my USB HDD. However, I could browse and
see my backup files on both types of USB HDD.

But when I plugged in my Maxtor used by my PC, it detects the drive
having a backup file. Note: I have a PC which I also perform a backup
off using the same method ( Whitebox dual core Vista Business) to a mix
of Lacie and Maxtor USB HDD.

Why doesn't the Vista Business CD detect the backup from my Fujitsu
laptop?

The Lacie HDD is not the issue because the Vista Business CD will
detect it when it has a backup from my PC.

Thanks
Beebzz

Personnally I dont use any Vista backup, or winxp for that matter, but a
dedicated imaging app, namely Acronis TI, which has allways worked when
required
