Default Gif file association problem

since my reinstall of vista, all my images were not linked to windows
photo gallery, i've got .png/.jpeg etc all working great, you double
click on the picture and photo gallery comes up with the single picture.

now, with .gif
i've right clicked it, open with, browse for programs, picked photo
gallery, ticked the box for it remember this setting, ok.

now the problem is, when i double click the .gif i just don't get the
image coming up, i get lots of images
as this image shows

how can i get it back to viewing the .gif normally?

thanks

EDIT:

found the problem,

For reasons best known to microsoft, they've decided photo gallery will
not to support gifs.

You can associate them with Internet Explorer, (or any internet
browser) which should work.

There's also this program
'_http://www.download32.com/windows-an...er-i19820.html_'
(http://www.download32.com/windows-an...er-i19820.html) but
I don't know anything about it.

bloody MS

Double clicking an image opens Windows Photo Gallery without Previewing the
image:
