Crodino,

I've only just realized that I don't have a 64 Bit version of Windows 7
downloaded; however, I have downloaded Virtualbox and have installed
the 32
Bit version of Windows 7. Installation went without a hitch. This was
installing Windows 7 RC1 from the DVD that I have.

...Yesss we 've got the same results ! Before I've tried to install
Win7 64 bit (guest)

Win7 64 bit (guest) on Vista hp 64 bit (O.S.) but without results
because there is no VT technology; Now I've installed Win7 32 bit
(guest) on Vista hp 64 bit (O.S.) and I'm the winner !!! All OK !!!
This evening I'm trying to restore a Ghost Partition image of Win 7 32
bit on my usb Drive and if it will work I'll be very very happy (I hope)

Crodino,

As I pointed out in my first post VT technology is only applicable to XP
Mode in Windows 7 and, as this is a separate download for Windows 7 it has
nothing to do with the issue. So what you are saying is that Windows 7 32
Bit 'will' install on Virtual Box but the 64 Bit version of Windows 7 'will
not'?

I have read posts where people have said that Virtualbox doesn't support
Windows 7, built we have both installed Windows 7 on Virtualbox so that is
somewhat of a myth. Virtualbox is also 32 Bit and 64 Bit compliant so I'm
puzzled as to why the 64 Bit version will not install, it certainly hasn't
anything to do with your processor not having VT technology.

Let me download the 64 Bit version from myself and try installing it on
Virtualbox and see what happens. Incidentally my machine also does not
support VT.

No, now I try explain better.
Initially I had only Win7 64 bit so I've done every test with it and
no one sw has worked until VMWare tells me that my problem is the 64
bit version so I've downloaded the 32 bit version and VMWare has created
a virtual Machine with Win7 32 bit. Then I haven't tried other SW (like
VirtualBox) because I'am almost satisfied, not completely because I'd
like create a USB drive win7 (32 or 64) bootable even though finding on
internet some people says that it's possible (by Blacktool, Vistape,
PWboot....), other no. If you can help me I thankful you.
Best Regards

As was pointed out, you will need a system that has VT enabled and
accessible to run the virtualized WindowsXP inside of WIndows7. That
being said, you should be able to run Windows 7 RC inside a VM just
fine, provided the VM thinks it is installed on a set drive and not a
removable one. You can also get Windows 7 to boot from a .VHD file if
you aren't hosting it in a virtual machine (VMware, VirtualBox,
VirtualPC, etc). Beyond that, make sure the version you are installing
matches whatever limitations your Virtualization software has. If you
still have issues getting it installed or working, try posting on the
official Windows 7 RC Support Forum located he
http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5
It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support
teams. They are pretty quick to answer questions, and many questions
already have answers and fixes if you poke around a bit.
